| I decided to ditch my mechanical flex fan today, and this is what I fabbed up... ....A little time and engineering and I was able to come up with the above. The shroud is made of 1/8" aluminum sheet that I bent with the brake to form a little box identical to the rad core. I made the upper lip overhang and it mounts to the aluminum L brackets that I had tigged to the top of the core. I used some tin as a template for the fan cut-outs and made easy work of the holes with the plasma. When all was said and done, dropped in some SPAL high volume puller fans (10" each), and wired the entire setup with dual insulated relays and weather-packs. I even found some weather stripping from another project to seal the shroud to the core. All and all, I believe my griffin radiator will thank me lol. I couldnt believe the price of these setups, so I am thankful I had enough junk lying around to build one lol. | |

| How did you end up wiring the fans? I'm planning the same basic thing on my car using factory LT1 fans and have been playing around with how to wire them. | |

| That is a very cool setup! Way nicer than the dual fans I rigged up. ----------
Brad,
I used this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/DER-16759?autofilter=1&part=DER-16759&N=700+309446+115&autoview=sku
To wire mine. Works amazing! Can't beat it as a solution for a non-LT1 car.

| Fishah....thanks!
Bammax....since I don't have heat or ac in my car, I didn't want the fans on a thermostatic switch. I simply wanted the fans to activate whenever the key was in the on position. I also ran one individual relay for each fan so in the event of a relay failure, I would still have some cooling...
Here is how I wired them....
pin 85- 12v switched (ignition) pin 86- Ground pin 30- 12v constant (battery) pin 87- Output (hot side of the fan)
Both relays are on a 20amp breaker...

| Thanks for the info.
I was going to wire mine the same but with 86 on the primary going to a temp switch and on the secondary it would run to a manual switch on the dash. Then I'd run a stronger secondary that I could flip for sitting in Boston traffic
