| Look very carefully at the wires going into the coil plugs, they have a habit of deteriorating inside the plastic coating. That would be the first thing I would check.

| check the ground in the trunk by the hinge then run a 12v power wire to the fuel pump prime connector, it's near the fuse box. | |

| Bang the bottom of the tank. Many times it will jolt the pump enough to get it to work, and at least get you home. I have never seen a good pump just stop working due to failure. It is a gradual thing. The car would be slow to start, then the pump starts hanging up, and needs a good wack on the bottom of the tank to get it to work. At this point it is tme to replace. Replace the pump, sock, and in tank wire harness with AC Delco only. Anything else could , and offten does fail prematurely.

| Mine was an issue where it would just start to randomly die and every time it happened it took longer to restart. Then I got sick of it after the car died pulling into a blind intersection I replaced it with a carter brand pump since I remember carter used to make good carbs back in the day. Plus it was only $80 and included the universal wiring harness and sock. Never had a problem after that. Although it was a very loud pump I put in | |

| I wasnt trying to bustem, only point out that Bill is the voice of experience. The internal tank harness is a well documented weak area in our setup. Like anything else its your dime & your time. I used these straps. They're pretty heavy duty, my orig straps were rusty crap Had to trim the back a little (rear most on the car) to slip up inside the bolt area so do that 1st if your going to paint them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/RST186-1991-1996-BUICK-ROADMASTER-GAS-TANK-STRAPS-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5d29a0931bQQitemZ400130347803QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories | |

| I was under my car in 100degree sun using POR15 on those areas. It started to rain & I had to paint quick before the driveway turned into a river. I didnt wear gloves & had BLACK (not dirty mind you ) POR15 painted hands for a week I usually ignore the wear gloves message on the cans but if you use THAT stuff use em...lol | |

| My wiring was melted at the tank connector. Right at the point where all the flammable vapors collect. The wiring at the pump was fine. I was almost tempted to just replace the connector but it would have been more work than just replacing the harness. | |
