How many of you watch the power block on Spike TV, or even go back to the days of the American sports cavilcade on TNN before it became Spike TV?

I have been watching these shows since the late 80s, and have learned alot. Even though I went to a tech high school, it did not tech the custom stuff I learned watching TV. If not for TNN, I would have not have learned about Cartech in Oregon that did turbo coversions on 5.0 Mustangs. And they wound up being one of the few companies that had a product that did what they claimed.

My faves were Shadetree Mechanics before the tall guy died, Trucks with Stacey David, and Motortrend TV. Then the good shows left and all these pitchmen started saying that to build a car that makes power you need to order their catalog which will tell you the part numbers that you need to buy and which store to buy them from. Like "we'll install a performance cam that will make even more power than the one we're taking out, but all we'll tell you is that you need to call a company and ask for the cam from the show". There's no need to bother the viewers with actuall info or anything Rolling Eyes

I did learn though that you shouldn't use pvc pipe for a rollcage (trucks bronco project) and that it's not difficult to install a ladder rack on a truck to keep your dad from smashing out the back window loading ladders (shadetree mechanics f-150) The biggest thing I learned after the pitchmen took over was that single stage urathane is actually a pretty good and cheap paint to use on a daily driver.

I got Direct TV this week, first time I've paid for cable in 9yrs, the DVR is awsome. I DVR'd those shows today. Just got done watching Horsepower, thinking of Doug and his LS swap.

Some of the info on the shows is good, the rest is either a info-mercial or crap Rolling Eyes I guess i watch just to chuckle sometimes.
