PostSubject: WTB: 18" truck tires or 17"+ wheel/tire package   Wed Jul 21, 2010 6:01 pm

Hey guys, just wanted to keep you guys on the lookout for me.

I have stock 18" wheels on the truck (08 GMC 1500) and it is about the time for new tires. The tires were painfully expensive last time and if I have to buy new I am going to have to dip into Impala mod money, so I am looking for a slightly used set of 265/65/18, 275/65R18, 275/70R18, or 285/65R18.

I have done the ebay and Craigslist searches, but perhaps some of you know of someone who upgraded their stock set for some aftermarkets and wants to unload a set of stock tires or even a set of stock rims/tires as long as they are GM 6-lug and 17" or larger so they clear my brakes.

I am not in a huge hurry here, don't NEED them till September, so just keep your eyes peeled!

Thanks,

Doug

Do they have to be LRE? I know my sister got her 18" Escalade wheels about 5 months ago(for her 96 Tahoe) From a chevy dealership for $400.00, wheels & tires, all brand new! Apparantly all new escalades come with the 18" wheels, but almost everybody upgrades to the 22"s. She said there was about 3 other sets sitting there.. Might be worth a shot to hit your local dealer?

Um, I would run those in a minute. The local dealers here do not have anything. A Take-off set would be perfect like that. Does she have a contact at that dealer? For that price I'd be down right away!

I will call her tonight to find out which dealer she got them from...

EDIT well I just talked to my sisters fiance, the dealer is out of business now. Go figure. He said they were cheap because the dealership was closing at the time.. Didn't know all that!

Thanks, now that I look into it, it is likely a Dueller H/T, which is not ideal, but they might have something else or it might hold me over till winter, since I have a nice set of winter tires. If you can just find out the dealer that would be great, I can go from there.

Thanks,

Doug
