| I've been thinking about gears for the beast. 342 versus 373. I'm looking for opinions / personal experience. I'm leaning toward 342s I love the way the 308 have plenty of zip on the highway at 65/70 and would like to keep the RPMs down as it's mostly a cruiser. Steve i see you have both 342s and 373s.Which do you like better and why ? and by the way 3 CARS now ??????All BBB. I'd love to hear what the wife has to say about that or do you keep one hidden. | |

| 3.73s. You will not notice a big enought gain with 3.42s to justifiy the cost over the stock 3.08s. You will notice the 3.73s, and mpgs won't suffer to bad either. |

what size tire do you have 275-40-17 ? they are shorter so a 3.73 will feel almost like a 4.10

80mph with 3.73 you'll be close to 3000 rpm ... what did you use on the front with the 8" rim?

| Sorry Mark, I never saw this. I have no idea why, I'm always looking. The 3.73 are more fun, do feel good on the backroads & add zip around highway speeds. Only thing I can note is the quicker part throttle shifts of the 3.73's. They shift quickly thru the gears when just puttering along. The 3.42's do save you some mileage but compared to 3.73 how much? All I know is 3.08's to 3.73's will/can cost you 2mpg. Combo is gear & driving style. For what I see you doing with your car now (guessing) I'd go 3.73 As far as the 3 cars, yeah, I put 1 in a bay at work. I just dont have room for the 3rd in the driveway. Matt's pissed because he cant work on it without going to work with me. My wife thinks I'm crazy for not buying a Lexus or something SHE dares to drive. HA! Crazy maybe but not stupid | |

| i think i might go with 3.73s now. i know what u mean when u say it shifts real quick. my buddy has a fullsize chevy with a 4l60e and 4.10s. and when ur driving normal it shifts thru the gears super quick. i always figured that was in his tune.. 3.73s should hepl me out alot at the track to, right?? | |
