Anyone got an old chrome type 4 barrel 14" (or so) open element air cleaner kickin around that you'd like to get rid of for cheap? And by cheap I mean free? Very Happy

TIA!

I dont have chrome, but I think I remember an old corvette (black painted) 4bbl style with the dual air feeds one on each side (dual CIA) up in my parents garage attic (my old parts dump). Wow, that was 30+ yrs ago....ouch.
I'll wait for a day or two until you go into mod mode & are looking for something other then stockish stuff.

And it figures, I just put a BRAND NEW Edelbrock one on Big Ugly right before I sold it. I was gonna take it off but then thought "when the hell will I ever need one of these again?" And left it. Moran.

No!!!!

Turns out the carb has a smaller top than Holleys and none of the air cleaners made fit it. So I ordered an adapter. And have an edlebrock air cleaner again. Smile Hope to get it on there next week sometime! Gotta hear that 4 barrel roar!

Can you turn the lid over? Or is it like the old style lid that looks like a cake container?

Yeah the standard is 4" where the original carbs from back in the day are something like 3 5/8". I'd let you get my quadra when I swap it out but it's a ccc unit so it'd be a pain adding in all the sensors and distributor and crap.

You've met me. Did you really think my math would be dead on without actually having a tape measure and carb in front of my while I type Laughing

At least I was within 6 inches of being close. Not bad for a rough guess Laughing

by the way. I stop measuring below a 16th. My eyes aren't good enough to make out them tiny dashes on the tape measure Suspect

Yeah, well I ballparked 4.5" and all the adapters listed that was close was the 4 7/32" so I guessed that was what I needed. Time will tell when the part shows up... Smile
