PostSubject: 24 Huors of Lemons   Wed Jul 07, 2010 4:49 pm

When: July 24/25th
Where: Stafford Motor Speedway, Stafford Springs CT
http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/

I have wanted to get into this for YEARS, love the fun behind it. I would like to scope it out this year and perhaps try to enter next year with a B-body wagon...

Anyone interested in scoping it out with me?

Doug

I read about how it works and it's not nearly as great as it sounds. They charge for the car to enter, then the driver, then they charge for each crew member to which they have a minimum number that you must have. Then they mandate certain safety equipment. When it's all done you end up paying a couple grand for the right to race around a curcuit in a "beater" car with no bumping or banging which will get you thrown out of the race.

It's cheaper and easier to run open wheel or dirt track

I read it all, and it all sounds pretty fair. I'm more interested in racing in a race that is more fun than competition, even if the money is the same. That's why I want to check it out before I actually try to do it. I figure I scope it out this year and if it looks like a blast then next year I will try to get a team of BADASSes together...
