| I figured I'd be nice and post up some info regarding the mythical magical 670 steering box on the "other" site. I'm figuring I'll either get bashed by a couple of "veterans" about how my info is totally wrong and has nothing to do with anything, or more likely the thread will die and never be spoken of again. Anyone else care to guess what the response will be to my letting a little bit of info slip out to the general public | |

| I'll go with 180 kilojoules.
How about a link? | |

| You already got some for suggesting a used steering box. This is one of those items that I'd prefer a used GM part. I've been saving one from an 88 Z for a while now, just in case.
I'd put a 88 MPH B-body at around 185 gigajoules (not including any add-ons).

| Kinetic energy is k=(mv^2)/2 A 4,000 pound car is equal to roughly 1,814 kilos and 88mph is equal to roughly 39 mps so: (1,814x39^2)/2 = (1,814x1,521)/2 = 2,759,094/2 = 1,379,547 joules How's that for physics at midnight | |

How's that for physics at midnight My head hurts. |

I rounded down on the english to metric conversion for both variables. That ultimetly reduced the final answer by a bit. Otherwise your estimate of 1.85 gigs would be closer to the actual answer. Now if you actually guessed 185 gigs then you are a fair bit off on your math Also remember that I listed a b-body at 4,000 pounds which is a complete guess since I never put one on a scale.
