PostSubject: Sick of gay green paint on my Z   Fri Jun 04, 2010 9:03 pm

I would post up pics of my car but I can't really stand to look at the color anymore. It's a teal-ish color right now. It was originally the dark green. Whoever painted it didn't even bother to sand off the original paint, just went over it instead. And they went really light on the back half of the car and it almost looks two tone. Drives me nuts.

I'm thinking two coats of gloss black, no clear coat. Trim has already been removed (what a bitch) and I'll pull the tails out and tape windows tomorrow night sometime. The rearview mirrors and hood vents are gloss black from the factory, I plan to keep them that way. It should look decent. What do you guys think? I really just want a change of scenery I guess. drunken

On a side note, I have a 94 trans w/ shift kit lined up, and I'll be installing a 3000 stall with it. Then RRs and springs, and a cheap catback. Won't replace the top until next summer, just don't have the money right now. But I plan on keeping this one for a long time. I have my eye on a S/C 3.8 V6 as a winter beater when the time comes. cyclops

My buddy has gloss black just sprayed over his original paint on his car and it looks like semi-gloss, which is what I want. I could be persuaded to do something different with pics though Wink

Satin black actually does look pretty good. Now I can't decide scratch

You missed the mirror. Wink

Paint the wheels gloss black, too. Smile

Looking good, man! cheers

(much less gay)

Also, what did you do with your stock tips?

I've been riding around with blue painters tape on in the rain on my mirrors and hood vents. Just waiting to get two coats on. I guess I had to take it off the headlights when it got dark out scratch

I was thinking about doing the wheels but I'm kinda on the fence about it. Not sure what happened to the stock tips but the previous owner had replaced the muffler back and you can tell a cheap exhaust shop fabbed it up. One side hangs way lower than the other but once I put on a magnaflow system that'll even out. cheers
