So Crovo, Al, and Al's boyfriend came over to the Palmer Pick-n'-Pull this morning. One thing led to another and we ended up stripping out Billy Mac's old SS...almost completely (minus the interior)...in about 3 and a half hours of work...LOL

The car pulled into the garage on it's own power...

It was a good time. Here is the first carnage pic...(sorry Billy!)

Here is the truckload that the boys left with... There is a rear end, 3 Impala seats, an exhaust system, 1/4 panels, bumpers, and other goodies.

And here is how the car looked when done...

I'm sure they will post up some of the more interesting pics from the day...LOL

Doug

Yeah, we had a great time! Holy crap! I can't believe how fast we went through that car. Shocked

And Billy, don't you worry, parts of her are going to a lot of our cars. One sacrificed so many could live. Smile

I sucked at taking pics yesterday. Mainly because I didn't bring a camera. Wink But I did snap a couple with the phone and shot a few vids, too. I didn't think of it til after we stripped the car almost completely though. oops.

First off, Doug is fuckin nuts. Taking a tranny out with no tranny jack? No problem. What about the rear end? Easy stuff. Moving a car with no wheels? Child's play. Wink

Here she is just after we stripped it, but before we ran the chain through it to lift it...

And here's a few vids of Doug "loading the trailer." Smile

Don't forget to tie that thing down before you take it over to the yard... Wink

The score:

Oh, and for the record, Doug can drive a trailer like a madman! Hit every mark on the first shot. Impressed!

Also, they sure know how to grow 'em in Walpole! And quite a few found Doug's place while we were there! afro

Must. Go Back. Soon.

Thanks for the parts. What a blast. Wink

Billy sent me pics to my phone twice saturday to show me the carnage as it was going on. Sad to see her end up that way, but it is what it is. Sad

Yeah, but in looking at it, it really was in too rough a' shape to save. I know you had a tough choice to make, but I think you made the right one. You never would have gotten on top of that thing. Sad

Hahaha, someday I would love to have such car molesting equipment at my disposal.

Did the rest of that car get sent to the scrapyard like that, still looked like it had some usable stuff on it like the mirrors!

Still plenty of interior, mirrors, and maybe a fender to save on that baby, but we realistically stripped everything else on the car.

Yup, as nice as it would have looked with a little cleaning up, a good look underneath found plenty of rot, enough that it would have been in the back of your head forever.

I'm in need of a few parts if you guys managed to strip the steering/suspension.

I'm looking for the splash shields that bolt to the spindle behind the rotor. I need the 2 bolts that hold it on too.

Talk to Al, he made off with the whole spindle setup. I imagine he has his from his old car at least.

Haha, they were just coming up to buy a few parts and I challenged them to help me set a B-body tear down record...They had the time, so one thing led to another and they ended up leaving with a lot more than they came for.
