| Last night I started thinking about what I really want to do with my wagon now that the bulk of the big stuff is out of the way. The wagon first and foremost is a cruiser/ daily driver and I want to keep it that way. Right now i'm hinging on over the winter tearing down and rebuilding the 5.7 TBI and just having a nice rebuild or going LT1. If I get that parts hearse like I'm hoping im just going to go LT1. If not and I have to source an engine, ecu and trans I think it would be cheaper to just do a rebuild on the TBI. What do you guys think? | |

| TBI would be cheaper and easier. Ask yourself this "how much would it cost to do a full LT1 conversion?" Then ask "how much power would my tbi make if I spent that much money on it?" That'll answer your question. As for reliability ask Rich or Billy about the joys of LT1's and you'll have your answer. | |

| Well, Like I said, if I get the hearse for a donor it'll cost me next to nothing. If anything, less than a grand for the car, or even less if my boss is in a good mood . And i'll have a 54k LT1, 4L60E and a 96 ecu. Then it would just be really finding the time to swap it out. So thats the crux of it, price wise, if I get my parts car i'm pretty much even. Then again, I could be lowballing what I need for parts on the TBI. On a full rebuild do I replace things like pistons and the cam? | |

| Nab offered to swap an LT1 into my TBI car for $500. $1000 if he supplied the engine.
That's what I would have done if I'da kept the car.
F TBI and F simplicity. I want power and mod ability, and not to get smoked by shit boxes. | |

| If I did a rebuild, and I got a rebuild kit like this, http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FEM-CSMHP761-300/ , what else would I need besides time? I know id have to get the block machined. | |
