PostSubject: Getting ever closer to drag day   Sun May 16, 2010 9:19 pm

I have been non stop for two days. I just have to install one exhaust pipe to the cat, tighten the bumper and all the fender bolts, install the headlights, battery and rear shocks, and remove the air pump and piping. The new manifold came with a plug for the air tube.

Ugly crack!

All better Very Happy

Two broken bolts I had to fix on the drivers side. Mad

Rust free inner fenders and core support painted with Chassis Saver cheers

Core support installed. Thanks Doug Wink

What a mess. affraid

Fixed. Cool

Complete front suspension and steering including 9c1 box, and new steering lines, shocks front and rear, brakes front and rear.

Hoping to run like this at epping. Razz

This sounds silly but is there a hotel nearby NED? Since I have the little man and wife it may be easier than leaving the Cape @ 4am.

There's really nothing local to it. There's dive hotels and motels, but I think you need to go to Manchester or Portsmouth for a Holiday in or the like...

After what happened on our FL trip a couple weeks ago I'll never book a room in an even slightly sketchy place ever again, don't trust the reviews online, if it seems even a little seedy spend a little more money and sleep knowing people aren't going to break into your room and steal everything! There are some nice hotels in Dover as Tom mentioned.

I ran into a snag tonight. Got the car back together, started it, and the pass side exhaust manifold gasket was leaking. When I put it on the cracked manifold I used some exhaust goop to get a good seal. Two weeks later some of the gasket came off, so I used more goop. I guess it did not hold. Now it will have to come back off, and install another new gasket. I also ran the big hose from the ps pump to the can under other stuff, and now the can won't clip into the holder. Still have to install the rear shocks. I will be lucky if I make it to the drags at all. Mad .

Get the light issue straightened out yet? If not I'll have no problems sorting it out between runs for you.
