| Hey Guys, So... I'm very close to pulling the trigger on an 86 Iroc in nice shape and thowing the Impala motor in it and a bunch of suspension goodies, some vette brakes, and making myself a street screamer and autocross/roadcourse killer. THIS CLOSE. It's a white T-top car with a black power interior and will be stock appearing with 18" Coy's C5's and lowered a couple inches and that about it. Maybe two tone paint and a T56 down the road. What say you about that? And feel free to be honest. (and no, I'm not going to grow a mullet) | |

| If I were to attempt to talk you out of it i'd be lying as we had an '87 Iroc when I was a little kid and I loved that car. It was the same car too, white with T-Tops, but ours was a blue interior.... | |

| billy im not going to try to talk you out of it. when i was still working in omaha i had a new 96 camaro ss. there a fast muther fcker. stock was about 1/2 inch past the speedo. wide open I-29 southbound picked up a iowa trooper in missouri valley ia. no way he was going to catch me. didnt even let up. get to the 680 and 29 split in the highway. in the rear view mirror no lights. so im going home. into ne. down to 80. if you want it billy get it. stock seats suck.no room in the rear. but fun to tear around town or highway. but watch out for the lexus sc 400. | |

| Yeah, I've got a wicked soft spot for the 3rd gens. I really want to build a decent one. Paulie, that one is nice, but too red for me. My first 86 iroc was red, too! This chick doesn't want to seem to come down on price, but it is pretty clean. I think that $2k is a bit pricey for one, even if it IS in nice, unmolested, rust-free shape... Wonder what I could get for a complete 305TPI/700r4 setup on CL? she just had the heads re-done and it only has 106k on it... Hmmmm.... | |

| 1. You won't get invited to a lot of events 2. The T-tops will leak 3. They don't make the good T56 cross member anymore 4. You'd be lucky to $100 for the 305. The tranny is probably worth more. 5. I'd do it, in fact I've been thinking about it What kind of brakes were you thinking about? | |

| Yeah, I think it's worth it too, but I don't have that kinda change laying around until I unload the impy. And it would get the heads/cam motor. Toomanymiles is going back in. And I was thinking C5 brakes. | |

| OK, let me try again. For a LT1 swap you'll need to buy a new fuel pump and fuel line hose adapter things. 91 and 92 Camaros use an electronic dash. Firebirds started a few years earlier. You'll need to splice a LT1 engine harness (I'd use a b-body one) to the Camaro's. It will cost you $118 not counting the drivetrain, harness, fuel pump, and instrument cluster. Oh and the C5 brakes. There are a lot of these cars around, some with engine/tranny problems... I wouldn't get too upset about missing out on one unless it's exactly what you want and in good shape. I vote black/orange! | |

| Some facts:
1. The Impala is the longest you have had a car that I can remember, by far. It has been years as opposed to months.
2. I think you have lost interest in it at least 2 years ago.
3. I'm guessing you haven't driven it 500 miles in 3 years, probably closer to 100.
4. As nicely as I can put it, the Impala is tempermental.
5. I think you can only concentrate on one B body at a time; and you are a wagon guy.
6. Mrs. C hates it, she looks at it and sees the new living room set she wants.
Put the For Sale sign on it.

| I love your Impy. Of course that's only because I don't have to deal with it. I also love the old Camaros, except for the fact that it kills my knees getting in and out of them thanks to their low stature. With that in mind my vote is get a camaro and kick yourself for downgrading on comfort and ease of use. Then sell it to someone in a year and buy another Caddy like you use to have | |

| I got to say, if you really don't want to mess with the impala (how much by the way?) Buy it. What do you have to lose? U have the wagon. I don't much like the 3rd gen im a 4 gen guy, but the IROC and the GTA Trans am were cars i would have bought in a sec if i could have found a good one at that price when i was looking. | |

| I think you should buy a turbo T car. Grand national or Ttype regal. Hair driers are cool. |

| Glen, I'd let it go for $7500 with the stock motor. And yeah, I like the GTA's, too. I always liked the bird interiors better. And I dunno about a turbo T. They're easy to make obscenely fast, but I just can't get over the way they sound. Although, the ride that Al took me for in his T was a hoot! I laughed lke a little girl the whole friggin time. | |
