| Quick game of catch-up for those who haven't read about the troubled life of my 95 RMW thus far..
Bought Car, early March.
Replaced; Spark Plugs Wires Opti(complete, from GM) Water Pump T-stat Fuel Pump Fuel Pump again(first one lasted 45 mins) 4 tires Idler arm *any part added after initial work done
So, I thought she was good to go. March 12th I head off for Myrtle Beach SC. Car breaks down in the Bronx. Great! (lovely place BTW.. kidding). Felt fuel related, died on me than had a Crank no start. after waiting 1hour, car started, but idled rough and the second I touched the gas, it would die. Towed to a hotel(shittiest part of the bronx, worst hotel i've ever been to). Checked in at 1:15AM, left at 5:45AM. Went out to the car, started fine. Get me the f*ck outta here! is what i was thinking. So she completed the next 10hours of the drive to SC with NO issues. WEIRD.
We unpack, and head to Wally world for some food. Come out to the car, Wont start! This time, felt like the starter. Was giving me a STRONG click, just one, as if the starter went bad. GREAT. AAA to the rescue again! Twice within 24hours! Tow truck driver gets there, turns the key to see what it was doing. BOOM. Damn battery EXPLODED. Awesome! This was saturday night. Towed to the house we were renting. Wednesday, I finally feel like dealing with the car. Went to NAPA and bought a battery, and a fuel pump relay(just for the sake of it). Replaced battery, all was well. Left SC on saturday the 20th. Car made the 16hour ride home, traffic and all, with NO issues(in a straight shot!)
*Battery *Fuel Pump Relay
Fast forward a week and a couple days to Today. Went to work fine, drove it on lunch break fine, Left work at 6. Get to the car, Crank no start! Wonderful! So thats where I'm at. I'm going to use this thread as a "build" thread I guess, and by build I mean "what it takes to run right". I'll update along the way.. Sorry for the long post, im just SO f&ck!ng aggravated with this car..

| Do you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key to the on position? What brand fuel pump are you buying? How is the fuel pump harness? Did you try moving the wires I showed you at the coil while someone else tries to start it. Have you checked the grounds and harness leading to the sending unit? |

Did not hear the fuel pump turn on.. I've got both pumps so far from GM.. Connectors to fuel pump and everything looked okay when we did the Pump.. I haven't messed with it this time, it Wouldn't start, I got a ride home. Going to deal with it tomorrow..

| run a power wire to the fuel pump prime connector this will bypass the fuse and relay

| In the morning try to start it, if it does not start, try giving the tank a good kick with your foot or rubber hammer. Then try again. I can already tell you this IS a wiring issue. Just need to find the culprit. |

| That sucks, Paulie. I had no idea you were having issues with the new ride. Must be the damn color. You should sell it (to me). I also think it's a wiring issue somewhere, too. I'd offer to help, but I apparently suck at that stuff. I haven't driven mine since last May. | |

| Check the aux battery post too. That would cause some interesting issues if it started melting. | |

| Update: I'm on lunch break at work.. we got the car in, after some testing, we have power up TO the fuel pump, but it doesn't turn on! After doing some reading on iATN, it seems that other shops have had multiple fuel pumps go bad on these cars.. supposedly its not the pump, but the wiring in the sending unit. So now I've got a sending unit on the way.. see if that gets her running again.. | |

| When you open the tank you'll see that the wiring harness that runs from the bulkhead connector to the pump is most likely burnt up. Most pumps come with a wiring harness that is universal fit and you need to splice grounds together to make it work. The sending unit shouldn't need to be replaced to get it all fixed.
If you need a hand just let us know and someone should be free to help out. Especially if you do it over the weekend.

I mentioned the harness, as it is all you need to replace, not the whole sending unit, unless there is a problem with the bulkhead fitting. |

| Well, I drove the car home from work. One of the wires on the sending unit was burnt up, causing an intermittent bad connection I guess.. Fuel pump itself was fine. So I replaced the sending unit and swapped the fuel pump into it(only 2 weeks old anyways).. I also did a fuel injector service to the car for the hell of it, didn't really notice a difference lol | |

| So I guess I'll just use this thread as a slow "build" thread?? Well, at Mod day at Doug's I installed the SLP air intake.. I also replaced the rear window struts i got from RockAuto.. I got something done today also.. Who says you cant pull an inner fender without removing the wheel!! (p.s. America runs on Dunkins) Here it is, back in.. Was kind of a pain in the @$$ doing it with the wheel on.. What was it all for? My new antenna is finally in, and it works! Man, driving around for over a month with no radio was unbearable!! I also need a Factory Jack and Lug wrench if anybody has some that are in nice shape.. Turns out this wagon is missing the jack, and the lug wrench is all warped and spins over the lug nuts.. thats why I had to do it with the wheel on!! | |

| I have one you can have, if you can wait till the 16th in May I'll be at the Loudon speedway for an autocross, I have a jack and a good lug wrench only ever used it a few times. | |

| Cell Phone pic from today.. Bought a set of 15x8" chrome wheels off of Crovo. Bought new lug nuts, and put my tires on them today. Took about 1.5hours of cleaning to make them all look decent(were rusty).. Still need to find some 3 1/4" push-through center caps.... I like how they look, I just dont know if I liked the white walls on them.. or should I flip it to black wall?? What do yall think?? | |

| Looks pretty damn sharp! I'm a blackwall kind of guy, so if it was mine I would do black walls, but it does look nice with the whites, I think because it's a wagon....whatever sense that makes.

| I think it would look funny w/blackwalls due to the size of the sidewall combined with all the trim and such on that car. If it had a larger diameter wheel I'd say blackwall, but at the same time, I'd like to see someone do a set of those low profile Diamondback white stripe tires or something. | |
