| By any slim chance is anyone out there setting on a NEW OEM left front windshield molding, GM part number is 10247721? This part is now NIS with GM as RMS too. If you know of anyone with one please send me some contact info. Thank you very much.

| Heard about your ordeal, Larry. That really sucks. Hope you find one! You could try Chris McCabe at Banks in Concord. He's worked some magic for me before. I think the number is 603-223-1600. | |

| All the glass moldings were replaced with new OEM when the Impala was stripped and painted. That's now going on the third summer. I am hoping the glass man can remove the glass without harming it. Just in case I have been putting together a complet set of seals/rubbers. Figured I would give it a shot because you never know what someone is setting on. I am sure there are a few out there.

| Saturday past one of my granddaughters and I went to a police benefit for two young girls who are fighting cancer. Drove about 30 miles with no problems what so ever, running like a top! At the benefit we soon discovered we forgot some items so I said I would make a store run. With granddaughter we left the benefit and drove about 1/2 mile when I noticed a serious vibration at the rear of fiberglass ramair hood. At about 40 mph I started slowing to pull over when all hell broke loose. Up came the hood! Fully extended both hood hinges snapped and the hood went sailing like a large black flying saucer. For one thing I had far to much "Mothers Wax" applied to the car as the hood slid nearly 50 yeards down the road. Beleive it or not, the hood is actually repairable, surprised the hell out of me. You would look at the hood and not believe the rest of the damage, it's that good! OK, for damage, insurance company is paying for everything, new oem grill, red SSLED light, hood, hood hinges, hood latching assembly, front glass and roof, hood struts, under hood light, and of course removal of rear glass for painting of the roof. Damage is appraised at about $6K. What was the problem, seems the powder coated hood latch malfunctioned as we were able to duplicate the problem. The good news is no one was hurt and their was no other cars behind me. Goes to the body shop on May 17th for about 10-14 days. I have located all new parts except the front left windshield molding (A Post). The Impala is insured by Infinity Insurance Co out of Alabama, to date they have been nothing less then outstanding in their service. As much as I dislike hood pins I believe I will install a set just to make sure. Having been sick on and off for the last month this was the first time I actually got to drive a bit and enjoy myself, oh well there will be more days. Any suggestions for hood pins that do not look like poop?

| Sorry to hear that after all your work.... I agree, there'll be more days - Deputy347K9 wrote:

Was this due to the slipperyness of the latch & its catch because of powdercoat or???? So how about plating instead of powder? or hidden cable (s) or something? Those pins arent bad and I see your re-working the hood anyway but IMO keep it clean | |

| The Impala would not start due to two live wires that were ripped apart, one for the grill light and the other was the underhood light. One of the two grounded out and blew the fuel pump fuse under the hood. Twenty cent repair, that was the best of it!
