Did the 9C1 Caprice or Impala SS come with an aluminum drive shaft? I am thinking about purchasing one depending on how much they go for.

They did not come with one but they are available from aftermarket companies.

No.

Expect to pay $350-450 for one. Might find one used.

Inland Empire, Dynotech, and Denny's come to mind. I have an IE in my Impala. I think Bobby said he's had good luck with Denny's.

stay away from Dynotech No I got a used Dennys MMC shaft that Dennys don't make anymore

PostSubject: One thing i dont like about denny's drive shafts   Tue Apr 06, 2010 2:02 am

As a mechanic this has never made sense to me:

"•Strong & reliable high mileage solid body, non greaseable and maintenance free "

I believe that any moving part should be greasable and that no moving part on a vehicle is maintenance free.
