Fords new Taurus police car will come with available all wheel drive and a 365HP V-6 twin turbo, and can withstand a 75mph rearend crash.
Its still a Taurus, but those numbers are impressive. | |

| Yeh seeing how chevrolet can pull their head out of their ass and make a decission. I have to admit, those numbers are impressive, but. And that is a big BUT! The GM version would remain the most reliable of the two do to the fact the LSX engine uses less moving parts, no over head cams, no long ass timing chains, and no timing chain guides, no awd, and no turbos to accomplish the same duty with more hp to boot. So I guess what I am saying is I will take GMs pipe dreams over Ford's reallity. |

| It's nice, and should hold up decent, but overall FWD= FAIL when it comes to police duty. The W-Impalas really aren't all that durable. The Caprice will be better at hopping curbs, I don't care what Ford says. When I was in NYC, I saw NISSAN ALTIMA hybrid police cruisers... I almost wouldn't even pull over for one of those! | |

| Police use their cars hard. Most turbos wouldn't hold up well to that abuse. Forget about the fact that ford knows pretty much nothing about turbo motors | |
