| you could try some RTV around the tube before you seat it all the way. their might be a crack on the tube at the ridge........ I used a lokar http://www.summitracing.com/search/brand/Lokar/Product-Line/Lokar-Hi-Tech-Flexible-Braided-Stainless-Transmission-Dipsticks/Transmission-Type/4L60E/?Ns=Rank%7cAsc&autoview=SKU | |

| Could not reply due to loss of power since yesterday in my neighborhood on the Cape. And could not work on the SS. Had to cross the bridge and take wife and toddler out for dinner and still no power, I am writing at my work computer down @ the Coast Guard base. *It is also the lower line on the pair of lines on the trans. I will first touch on that losen and reinstall and then rtv the dipstick. Something does not want my to drive this thing!!!!! | |

| Do you just need a gromet? I have 4 busted trannys laying around. I should have at least one or two gromets. I could go look and have one in the mail toworrow if it would ever stop raining. |

| You're way too picky man. Just keep it topped off and drive the thing. Nobody in New England has a spotless show quality daily driver and you aint goin to be the first. Just deal with minor things and don't let them keep you from hanging out with the guys come summer time. I've driven for months on bad balljoints and tie-rods with both oil and trans leaks, a bad alternator, and non-functioning temp guage. You're worrying about a couple small drips in your purdy little garage My old Blazer had no floors, no exhaust, and a blown brake line and I still drove it to school. Ya wimp | |

| I would say the drip would be atleast 1/4 cup or more so I have to fix it. Alas, I have known it is no show car. Just one of the few items I have that is left from me before marriage and my little boy. | |

| Cooler lines shouldn't be too much trouble to replace. Cheap too if you don't care about using original parts. Just need to find if they're blown out or just not tightened down at the trans/radiator ends. | |

| If the line itself is blown let us know where and somebody can walk you through the fix.
I tend to just cut out the bad section with a tube cutter and then use the pressurized hose that they sell for installing aftermarket trans coolers. If you put a small flare to the tube ends it'll give the clamp something to hold against and that hose will never leak or blow off. Plus it allows for more flexability in the lines, which may or may not be a good thing depending on their location. | |

| I just ordered the thread adapters on the trans so I can just add another hose(-6an) like I made up for the other 2 lines going forward to the rad and cooler since I have the left over -6an braided hose. That way it is not 4" from the trans and I can add a few inches for flexibility. I will be taking that line off for inspection. | |

| I added my AN hose+adapter on both sides, put some RTV on the dipstick(thanks Bob! ), and ran it for a bit and no squirts or drips. I am going to drive it hard to work tomorrow so we'll see if anything happens. Plan to make the meet with SS. | |
