I'm going to need to make a run to a junkyard in RI in the next couple of weeks. This place has cars going back to the early 60's and you never know exactl what you'll find there. I went there for parts for Laura 74 Omega when we needed trim pieces and stuff so that gives you an idea of what they carry. It costs $5 to get in and when you find what you want you go inside and tell the guy what it is and discuss the price before pulling the parts off. They even have trailers full of rear-ends, transmissions, and engines from tons of different cars for those looking for those type parts.

This trip is for anyone interested in finding some old parts to customize their ride, or for those interested in finding parts for their "other" car. It's also a great place to go to with a camera since there are some great photo-ops there. I'm going over in the next couple weeks to grab a door. If anyone else in interested in going then lets start planning a group outing.

Here's their site but remember that the pics they list in the "memory lane" section are out-dated so those exact cars may no longer be there.

I went here a while back and found a replacement non-AC style dash trim plate for my 74, my brother dented the original...ass.

It was in this car, which for some reason had the 74 trim piece even though it was a 76...

It was cool but I didn't like having to pay to get in...I made up for that by grabbing a couple small pocket items I needed. They probably expect that though. hahaha

They did have some cool stuff in the back, more places need to leave the old cars out back like this.

I really want to check out that huge illegal junkyard in RI with the thousands of cars out in the woods...it's been on the web a few times since someone blabbed it last year, my buddy who went to New England Tech had gone there about 5 years ago with a shop teacher and told me it was incredible. Just sucks that the owner is a strange dude who sometimes won't let anyone in just because he doesn't like them, is drunk at noontime, etc.

To give you an idea of the sheer size of this place:

Follow the dirt road with the junk along it to the left by dragging the map, then watch as all the cars in the woods appear, you'll know when you see it, then you can just keep moving the map around. It's nuts.

Pics start halfway down this page and go to the end:
