I was going to ask the same question. If you have the 7.5 rear, you cannot install anything bigger than 2.93 in a 7.5 housing. I think. |

| The reason you aren't finding what you want is because you haven’t once told us in your 77 posts what your car is. Do you think that might be an issue?
Listen up: L99 = 7.5” rear, LT1 = 8.5” rear.
Since you did post a couple pics – none of them conclusive though - it appears that you have dual exhaust. Those, and wanting to delete the engine driven fan implies that you have a B4U and therefore the LT1. Want to take a stab at that rearend size now?
Now that we’ve got that straight.
Focuztech has the 3.73 rear gears and reluctor that you want. Buy the best set they offer. The gear oil and gasket to open it up after the install if something doesn’t seem right will be about the same as the difference in price. Don’t cheap out on the install. If you don’t have someone that you know can do it right, find a shop that can and pay them what they ask. Chasing a poor install will cost more time, money and aggravation than you want to go through. You do not need speedometer drive gear for the transmission, it is adjusted in the PCM. You will need to have it reflashed after the install to adjust for the gear change.
People here are more than willing to help, but they are flying blind if you don’t take a few minutes to help them help you. Time to take some responsibility for asking the right questions.
Thanks, I’ll be here all week. Try the veal.

| lol, Jay, the veal sucks! lol.
Jay is right, find a good garage or a good GM mechanic to do it. Im using some used ones that i have, cause i couldn't afford a new set right now. Good luck. | |
