| Thanks, anyone besides Scott Mueller care to comment on the difference between the two Bilsteins?
Not that it matters too much right now. I'm going to have to live with 1 Gabriel and 3 Bilsteins 'til the banker frees up some funds.

I think that site sums it all up...I've been scrounging for info on those 1516/1517 shocks because I think the 0929s are too short for the cargo coils in the rear of my car, causing the springs to get constricted. There was a surplus closeout website selling the 1517s WICKED cheap, but apparently they sold out around Christmas!

| I scored a set of used 1516/1517s for $150. I wanted to try the softer shocks without spending 300 plus for something i might not like. I have seen the rears on ebay for $125 .But then you'd probably end up paying full price for the fronts. Matt i can get you a measurement when they get here.Maybe boojum can get the specs on the 0929s for comparison. | |

From what I've seen the 1517 is an inch longer than the 0929 (as far as when they extend out or something) but I'm not sure. I do have all my KYBs from my other car, I was going to pull the rear shocks this springtime, then see if there was a difference in length between the Bilsteins and KYBs and pop those in to see what happened... they worked fine with the same longer springs I had in the other car! If that is the case, I'll probably put all the Bilsteins in my Caprice and put the KYBs in the Impala...

Never heard of them How do they compare to the other 2 versions. Bill Harper (aka Navy Lifer) is the one who suggested these they have a different valving. I never had the others so I can't compare but they don't feel harsh and it rides great to me
