| Agreed on lowering, the whole concept of these donks, boxes, bubbles, moon buggies, and what may have you...is really stupid to me. all the money into that crap, and the engine is a rusted, body damaged etc. This is the urban dictionary definition for these cars...enjoy... 4. donk Any POS late 80's or early 90's American heap (preferably an Impala) that has large enough wheels installed until it resembles (and rides and handles like) a Conestoga wagon. This is done so it sits up high enough so as to be at the same eye level as the Playas with real juice ridin in their Escalades. Adding in a bad candy paint job and Wal-Mart sub box completes the transformation. With no money left over for necessary suspension and brake upgrades, the lifespan is limited to a few drug runs or the first Police chase, whichever occurs first. That donk is fly and ridin high. | |

| I guess a donk is actually a 71-76 like my car, a box is self explanatory, and so is the bubble. lol I hate that crap. It's a waste of a car. I liked some of them when they were just tucking bigger wheels but still I don't think I'd ever run a wheel bigger than 20" or so on anything I ever own, having wheels over 18 inches in diameter increases rolling resistance, wears out your brakes, and does nothing good for performance! The other thing that pisses me off is I was driving a 74 Impala (my old green one) before all this stuff started up, and for the longest time I could get hard to find NOS parts cheap. Now everything is snapped up on eBay by people who aren't even doing a restoration but creating a rolling eyesore.. | |

| No only do they look stupid, but they are very unsafe.
Usually the wheels and tires cost more than the car or paint.
I think all these cars were Donks, but were forced down by the law, so the owners sold them. http://www.impalassforum.com/vBulletin/showthread.php?t=236053 |

| They are no where near hard to find. I've been keeping tabs on a couple g-bodies in this area that have been dinked out and are now for sale. One of them even has sponsership paint which is odd because there is no racing organization that would allow dinks to race. And the type of guy that does that to a car doesn't watch Nascar or F1 or anything like that http://providence.craigslist.org/cto/1531107852.html http://providence.craigslist.org/cto/1542277042.html http://providence.craigslist.org/cto/1510689024.html | |

I love those 87-88 Cutlass Supremes with the euro header panel on them. | |

| THOSE CARS ARE FRIGGIN' STUPID LOOKING. Why are they painted like cereal and $1.19 candy bars. They dont get any endorsements A WASTE OF MONEY(like buying a new front wheel drive imp) Personally, I dont like the olds. I'm more into the Buick and the Chevy...Hence I have the Monte SS where they only made 6052 of that body style in '87. No disposeable rust buckets ya know? | |
