| Here's an example of what grounds (or lack of) can do to your vehicle So I show up at the GE gaurd shack to get escorted on the premises I grab my equipment close my trunk & go get the job done I come back, hit the trunk popper button on my remote & nothing happens I look closer & when I push the button and... my license plate light lights up but no trunk pop I unlock it with the key & when I get home I find a broken wire by the drivers side hinge. Fix it & alls well in the world Add that to your trunk ground memory banks | |

| After everything I've gone through with my electrical I'd say yours wasn't really a gremlin. You discovered a problem, pinpointed it, then fixed it, all in one post. What you have actually is a topic about the interesting ways that our cars are wired . Now that I'm done teasing you I'll say I'm glad you managed to find and fix your problem before it got any worse. Now just drive over to Rich's place and fix his problem | |

| OBVIOUSLY it was a gremlin that chewed thru the wire! Now dont you owe Rich a visit from last time you bailed on him He'll just have to watch you & make sure you dont redesign the pump/sender method of operation | |

| As soon as my back gets better and my arthritis goes away I'll be glad to lay on the cold ground and play with wires Until then I can just guide him through his issues. For example you can tie the return line and the vapor line together and then use the extra sender line to run a second feed line to the front. That way the little line can be plumbed into the nitrous nozzles at the injectors | |

| If he put on a carburator and mechanical fuel pump he wouldn't have all these issues | |

| The WORST thing is going thru what Rich has now You have a problem, you fix it & it seems to work then you find your right back where you started. I have pretty good logic but I dont have alot of history chasing b-body problems down. I also know unless your totally trained the logic doesnt necessarily work I was begging for guesses when my car started acting crazy. I wish I had more free time to help. | |

| I had a similar issue like Rich's in my 95 fleetwood. I dropped the tank to replace the pump. Reinstalled everything. Took it in for an inspection. It failed because the guy said he smelled gas. I dropped the tank again thinking the sending unit was not on tight, or one of the lines popped off. Found nothing, put the taank back up and returned for inspection only to have it fail again. Dropped the tank again, and found the tank was split on the seam right behined the strap at the front of the tank. Got a tank from a junk yard for $50 out of a 92 caprice and I was good to go. |
